RDM personnel and experts from the participating universities and NFDI consortia are trained and supported by the Coscine team for 1st Level Support through various options. The 1st Level Support is provided by the home university or through the responsible NFDI consortium, while the 2nd Level Support is handled by RWTH Aachen University. Coscine Support Foundational Training (Train the Trainer)

The foundational training for 1st Level Support takes place twice a year. As part of the Train-the-Trainer concept, knowledge for Coscine 1st Level Support is conveyed. Topics include, among others, the core functionalities of Coscine, communication structures, and the review process for storage requests.

Coscine Support Onboarding Kick-Off

As a refresher for the Train-the-Trainer, we offer a half-day kick-off meeting for Coscine’s 1st Level Support. During this meeting, the basics of support structures are explained, along with a brief introduction to processes for applying for and reviewing storage space. Dates for a kick-off meeting are coordinated individually with each participating university or NFDI consortium.

Coscine Support Consulting Hour

Every third Friday of the month, there is a consulting hour dedicated to Coscine. The target audience for this Consulting Hour consists of individuals working as 1st Level Support for Coscine in their institution/consortium. During these Consulting Hour, questions regarding support processes and developments can be discussed together, as well as issues with the Coscine 2nd Level Support team.

Coscine Support Summit

Once a year, individuals from 1st Level Support come together during the Coscine Support Summit. This in-person meeting prioritizes exchange among participants and involves revising current support processes, presenting best practices, and identifying needs for further development. Individuals from Coscine’s 1st Level Support can propose thematic content within the framework of Coscine’s Consulting Hour.

Coscine User Meeting

Once a year, users of Coscine gather during the Coscine User Meeting. This meeting focuses on hands-on workshops and best practices in using Coscine. The meeting usually takes place alongside other FDM events. Users of Coscine can direct proposals for thematic content to their 1st Level Support or suggest them within the context of the Coscine user survey.
