This course guides you through a step-by-step process using a Jupyter Notebook to develop a Python script for automating data transfer. You’ll work with Coscine projects and resources via the Coscine Python SDK. By the end of the course, you’ll have the foundational skills to write your own scripts for automating data workflows, allowing you to transfer data and metadata from a local machine or server to Coscine.

Presentation of Coscine as a web-based RDM platform developed at RWTH Aachen University. It enables the storage, management and archiving of research and metadata generated in the context of research projects. The platform also promotes cooperation across organizational boundaries, since researchers can register either via their organization via SSO or via ORCID. In order to enable meaningful metadata management for all research areas, Coscine allows flexible description with metadata based on established technologies (SHACL/RDF).

What needs to be done to establish sustainable, networked and quality-assured research data infrastructures? International experts will discuss this topic at the Herrenhausen Conference organized by the Council for Information Infrastructures (RfII) and the Volkswagen Foundation. Coscine will be presented alongside other RDM infrastructures on a joint poster with project partners from KIT, NFDI-MatWerk and NFDI4Ing.

The NFDI4Ing project Measure Metadata and Terminology Services addresses the problem of ambiguity in data management and provides a comprehensive service offering that facilitates the use of subject- and application-specific standardized metadata and their integration into engineering-specific workflows. It also provides services for creating, sharing, and reusing application-specific metadata profiles, as well as a terminology service that enables researchers and infrastructure providers to access, maintain, and update terminologies. In this talk, the service offerings will be presented based on a specific use case. First, there will be a general introduction to the task area and then a concrete demonstration of how the services can be used.
