The RDM platform Coscine offers researchers the opportunity to store data, including the necessary metadata, in accordance with the FAIR principles. To make this possible, sufficiently large storage is of crucial importance. It is with great pleasure that we would like to draw your attention to the new press release issued by the Ministry of Culture and Science in December. This press release reports on the data storage facility, which can be used by all public universities in the state with a total storage capacity of 15 petabytes. The storage is distributed across the Aachen, Duisburg-Essen, Cologne and Paderborn locations to ensure protection against potential outages. The use of Datastorage.nrw in conjunction with the Coscine.nrw project thus enables all universities in North Rhine-Westphalia to securely store research data and metadata.
