Research Project

In Coscine, the research project is the overarching connecting element between the stored or linked research data. Thus, at the beginning of the use of Coscine, there is always the question of the research project for which research data is to be organized. Based on the respective project affiliation, collaborators can then be invited or resources can be created.

Storage space on the Research Data Storage (RDS) is also always allocated based on research projects only. This is partly due to the requirements of the RDS sponsor, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which stipulates that the projects and associated data must always be research data. Once the storage space has been allocated at project level, it can then be distributed to existing or newly created resources. There is no limit to the number of projects or resources in Coscine.

All information about projects in Coscine can be found in our documentation.
