
The service provision and further development of Coscine takes place at the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University. It is a strategic open source process in which all users can participate.
Within the framework of Coscine.nrw and the research data storage infrastructure, governance is carried out via uniform structures. This includes the establishment of a joint advisory board.
Tasks of the Advisory Board
- Review of reporting including the relevant key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Involvement in risk management for the early identification of potential risks and development opportunities
- Consultation on the prioritization of upcoming further developments

The Advisory Board is confirmed by the user group and includes one representative of each interest group and a maximum of one member per university/university of applied sciences. The term of office is two years. The User Group is another part of Coscine’s governance, which meets every six months.
