The switch from Research Data Storage to DataStorage.nrw represents an important step for the storage and management of research data in NRW. The storage is expected to be provided via Coscine from quarter 1 of 2025. Both the RDS-RWTH and local RDS instances, such as at the University of Duisburg-Essen, the Technical University of Dortmund and the Ruhr University Bochum, must be converted to DataStorage.nrw. This changeover brings advantages such as increased data security through geo-redundancy and optimized performance.
